“Screaming Eagle” NEXT GENERATION SERVER ANNOUNCED
Systems Nearly Double Performance at
Reduced Cost
Sterling,
Virginia, April 9, 2002 – Financial Services, Inc. (FSI), a provider of advanced
communications and custom computer systems, announced it will begin accepting
orders for the next generation of rack mounted computer servers and
workstations. Computer servers manage
everything from e-commerce and email to large government and corporate
networks. These new server systems from
FSI are targeted at the fast growing “front-end” and general purpose server
market, and will feature the latest CPU’s and chipsets from Intel® which can provide
performance improvements up to 80% compared to the Intel Pentium III Xeon.
Systems
will include the latest Intel 2.x GHz processors, up to 12 gigabytes of
high-speed DDR RAM, multiple high-performance hard drives and state-of-the-art
network adapters for the most demanding server environment, all packed into a
compact case said Charlie Taylor, president of Financial Services, Inc. For a typical customer, this could mean
reducing space requirements by almost half, and at a cost per unit thousands of
dollars less than a comparatively configured system with only half the
processing power now available from leading manufacturers. We expect to begin delivering systems prior
to the month’s end, he said.
Final pricing will depend on a customer’s
particular requirements. Most popular
operating systems will be supported.
